Hi VJs ! If you are watching this video, you are already a visual enthusiast, hopefully checked out proper step by step learning of resolume arena 7. This might not be an ideal video for you if you’re just starting. Check out a great overview of Resolume Arena 7 here, and then add this quick trick, in your hand!
Hi, I am zunayed sabbir ahmed, on behalf of We are VJ bangladesh, a small rising community of live visual artists ang light designers, based in Bangladesh.
In this medium long sized video, we will create a few advanced camera routings, where you can plan your camera feeds ahead and get best use of your creative studio time and nail live gigs! We will deal with camera’s in this video, but trust me you can do trizzillion things with it, trust me!
We will continue the project we made in our previous video, and build on to that
If you haven’t seen that great trick yet, check it out here
Lets dive in!
To Start, lets drag the Set layer to bottom, so that adding more layer above wont get it messed up in advanced output
Lets press CTRL+Shift+A for advanced output, and let’s re-route the set slice to set again.
Lets say, for this example we will use two camera feeds
You can get quad or dual hdmi/sdi cards to do that
You can also use multiple camlinks to get this done
And ofcourse NDI is there!
So lets add two layers, above or under, doesn’t matter, we will put them to blackout soon
Lets add a group and drag them inside
Lets Rename the group to CAM ALL, and Layers to CAM 1 and CAM 2
lets add two sample shots, the fames you want to go for, or you will get in the venue
we are gonna hire the glamor of david guetta and thank him for being a great demo for this tutorial
Later, when we are at venue, we will add cameras from sources to these layers
Lets Put Mid shot to Cam 1
Lets put Closeup shot to Cam 2
Lets put them to persistent mode so that they stay reacble in any deck inside this composition
Lets put persistent, fire and lock our set layer as well, so that it wont blackout when put to master black out
Lets fire both clips
Lets blackout the group so that it doesn’t hurt our composition, lets lock this group as well
Lets add another layer, coz i myself feel suffocating if i have to work with less than 3 layers, phew
Lets rename the layers, it will save our time, later, like grand pa’ said
We’re almost ready to roll!
lets drop a layer router, from sources
lets change input to Cam 1
Lets deselect input opacity and bypass
Thats Cam 01
Lets copy and paste the same source beside it
Lets Change input to CAM 2
lets rename them
lets change thumbnails for them, its not essential, but sorry for having designer’s ocd
Speaking of designer’s OCD, let ne show you how much i can push this situation
Here i grabbed a youtube video, and cut two shots of our favorite ******,
We cut them, export as DXV
Lets drop them to layers accordingly, put persistent
Again, you can just add camera via capture device in sources anytime you are ready to work with cameras
Or you can work with a very basic webcam, take cair of your hairstyle while u work
See! now it feels like we can START!
We will learn to create advanced camera plotting using layer routers, where you can plan your camera feeds ahead and get best use of your creative studio time and nail in live gigs!
