Working with BPM to JAM with BAND or DJ! | Resolume Tricks ! VJ TIPS
Today we will dive little deep getting visuals to synced to music
Wheather you’re the one making music, or you’re playing with a band, synchronization is the juice!
If you’re watching this video, then you already know the importance of keeping visual synced to the music
Hi I am Zunayed Sabbir Ahmed
This is a resolume arena 7 tips, applicable for beginners, also might get adanced users to adapt a new trick
but i you are new to this software, check out this great video where you can start
Then come back to this video!
We will be using clips with audio to understand the function
For this project, lets use all the clips that came free with resolume
“Just hold on with me,
i will share few tips to make
your own audio video clips for your playlist as well!”
Before we start, if you like my series, i humbly request you to like this video and maybe subscribe as well
A little free digital gesture like that might inspire me, to inspire people, that will inspire you back, call the whole thing a community !
To start, lets clean up our layout to only the things we might need
Check out this link here to understand organizing your project, like this
Lets go to setings and look for defaults
“Here we will change our default to BPM sync
for both audio and video clips,
and make sure they are put to loop”
“check out this great video that explains relative mode,
better than i would do”
Lets hit cross to get out of settings
We are gonna noodle with beatsnap now
If you’re not a musician, i can get u scared showing few staff notations and a jazz face like this
instead let me try simplify the idea of a beat, that you snap to, in beatsnap
General music is generally produced in a general format
You noticed, I said general 3 times because there’s a genre called Jazz, which wont listen to anything i just said and walk its own way!
“means one click is one fourth of the beat,
half of the click is one eighth of a beat”
“usually 8 bars make one whole circle
means it gets back to first beat after 8 bars”
“So beatsnap helps your clip to trigger
snapping to meanngful beat
helping u to make some meaning with rhythm”
“beat snap fixes your trigger time
by snapping to immidiate next best spot to blend in”
“Lets check out the beatsnap for composition,
same thing applies for layer beatsnaps where your clips use beatsnap function layer-wise”
even you can individually modify beatsnaps clip-wise as well
For this video, lets keep it simple and stick to composition beatsnap, that is applicable for the whole composion
Lets midi map the very necessary buttons to get the BPM on hand
lets press ctrl + shif + M or cmd + shift + M to edit midi
Lets see what we can do with this now !
Rememer, i told u i am gonna share a tip to make ur own content?
here it is-
“let me take a very generic 120bpm drum loop,
that we will only hear in production, never again while performing!”
“lets drag this audio to after effects,
where we will make our own simply video that snaps to beat”
lets drop a photo that we will animate in beat
“for this demonstration we will use scale and rotation,
but you can go crazy as u want”
Lets press L twice so that we can see the waveform for the audio
“Lets put keyframe to our scale peremeters, that snaps to beat,
remember to use the very first keyframe at the last frame,
so that it wont jump while looping”
Lets put up a rotation of 1 full circle at the last bar of the drums
“lets export it with audio, note we are not gonna use this audio
but only use it for synrhonization”
“but you can export your visuals with your own music,
please share your project and inspire me as well!”
now lets drop the clip to our project
lets mute the audio and lets see how it works
If you really have watched this video so far, wooof! congratulations
